First Day Out!

Kami and I went snowboarding last Friday. Actually, it was a great little unexpected escape...she called me at work and suggested that we leave Thursday night to beat the storm and ride all day Friday. And we did! It began snowing around 3am and didn't let up until 3pm. You could make a run, get to the top to make another and your tracks were covered! Mid-day we ran into Jay and Frank and rode with them for the rest of the afternoon. Ate some good food, played in the snow all day and drove back on roads that were completely plowed by the time we set out to go home. Truly epic! The art I promised is still on its way. Hang tight!

Nite-time is the Right-time!

Went out for a street session with a small crew. David B and Stock made up the big wheel end of things while Tony T and I held it down for the 20-inchers. Rode a few couple of spots we hadn't been to in a while. Watched Dave max out his chainring trying for a huge bank to sub-rail abubuca. Check out Tony's site for some cool photos. I went sans camera so I could just enjoy riding. Sometimes it's fun to just rip around without lugging a big bag full of gear on your back. I feel like we're trying to beat the weather clock. Once it starts freezing rain and snow I know the sessions will probably scale back a bit. We'll have to hit up our inside spots then!

Near and Dear Friends....

Reflecting on 'things to be thankful for' while stuffing my face with food today, friends rank at the top of my list. Here's a couple portraits of my good friend Joe in the place he pretty much lives in during the winter. Definitely a thankless job. Super important, but thankless nonetheless.

Art!

Went down to New Haven last night. Got some awesome burritos with Kami and then watched that show called House. Watching TV is a rare thing for me so it's always interesting to watch the commercial breaks during the program. The companies who advertise must really think that the people watching these programs are stupid. I felt like I was being talked down to while watching these awful advertisments. Maybe I'm just reading into it too much. But I digress. On the way back to my car/driving home I took some photos. Here they are. Enjoy.

Art is cool.

Rail Jam cont/ Whethersfield Park

Here are the remaining few photos from the rail jam @ Pat's house:

-here was Pat's attempt to gap the box

-Joe's secret message. Written in amazing disappearing light!

A few of us went to the Whethersfield cement park this past Sunday. Because I didn't feel like riding with a million other kids (read: dodging them) I decided to bring my camera instead of my bike. This place looks super fun! I'm gonna head over there early some morning so I can ride in peace. Here are a couple of shots:

-good sized boost out of the corner.

Busy Weekend....

It's been really busy this weekend round here....Rode in the New Haven Alleycat on Saturday night....the more interesting points include: Riding with lots of pumped up cyclists, sprinting from check-point to check-point, being shot at by a car of kids with a paintball gun, pounding a Sobe green tea at the finishline faster than anything I've ever drank in my life, NOT getting lost for once, singing Follow the Yellow Brick Road to get my manifest signed at a check-point, my legs burning, not getting a flat, seeing the same dude (that bummed a tube off of me during a Ghettodrome) bum a tube off someone else @ the first check-point (nothing like running kevlar lined tires)....big ups to the Elm City crew for putting together such a fun ride and giving away such dope prizes. HUGE thanks to Colin for letting me tag along for the better part of the race and getting me through quite a few check-points (thanks for the banana too)!

Sunday morning, band practice. Oh my! What a great rehersal...Our song count has now soared to three near completed songs with some more in the works. And we have a name.....drum roll please.......CBYD. I'll let you all guess what it stands for....one hint, it's not 'Could Be Young Dudes'...but it might be.....PEACE!

Devil's Night Alleycat

...is tonight! Wish me luck and safe riding in the Elm City! I'm sure I'll have some stories to tell....

Up late....

I feel like I've been so scattered lately. When I go to check email before bed I enevitably [sp?] wind up checking out music/art that I've never heard/seen before. Next thing I know, several hours pass and I'm exhausted, barely able to keep my eyes open. Does anyone else have this issue as well? goodnight.
PS-check out The Twilight Singers....they're amazing!
